Do-Not-Disturb and the Blocklist
Two ways to make your phone quieter. Do-not-disturb is temporary — you flip it on when you need focus and off when you are ready. The blocklist is a permanent list of numbers that never make it to your team in the first place.
Do-not-disturb (DND)
DND silences your devices for a set window without changing your schedule.
Turning DND on
From any device:
- Open the CallerFriendly app.
- Click your status in the corner.
- Pick Do Not Disturb.
- Choose how long — 30 minutes, an hour, until the end of the day, or until you turn it off.
While DND is on, calls skip you and ring whoever else is in the queue or ring group. If nobody picks up, the call falls through to your after-hours rule — voicemail, callback list, or whichever option you set.
Per-team-member DND
DND only silences your own devices. Other team members keep ringing. That is the point — focus for you, business as usual for the rest.
Team-wide quiet windows
Need to silence the whole team for an hour? That is a business-hours change, not DND. Go to Settings → Business Hours, add a quick Closed window, and undo it when you are done.
The blocklist
The blocklist is for callers you never want to hear from again — repeat spam, harassing numbers, sales pitches you have already turned down.
Adding a number to the blocklist
There are three ways:
From the call window. After the call ends, click the Block button on the call card. Confirm and the number is added.
From the call history. Open the call in Call History, click the three dots, and pick Block this number.
From the dashboard. Open Settings → Blocklist, click Add Number, paste the number, and save.
What blocked callers experience
By default, they hear a polite "This number is not accepting calls" and the call ends. You can change the response in Settings → Blocklist → Block Behavior:
- Polite hang-up (default).
- Straight to busy signal. Looks like a normal line that is occupied.
- Go to voicemail silently. Voicemails from blocked numbers go to a separate folder so you can review them once a month.
Blocked calls never ring your team. They do show up in Call History with a Blocked label so you can see what is being filtered.
Removing a number from the blocklist
Open Settings → Blocklist, find the number, and click Unblock. The next call from that number rings as usual.
Auto-block patterns
Some calls fit a pattern — entire area codes you never serve, suspicious caller IDs like V123456789, or numbers that match recent spam waves. In Settings → Blocklist → Auto-Block Rules, you can add rules that match a pattern. Examples:
- Block calls from any number whose caller ID is empty.
- Block calls from area code +233 (or any code you never see customers from).
- Block known robocaller patterns.
We update the built-in spam pattern list often.
Common questions
A real customer ended up on my blocklist by mistake. Open Settings → Blocklist, find them, and unblock. Their next call goes through normally.
DND turned off but my phone still does not ring. Check the app status — it may have flipped to Away instead of back to Available. Click and pick Available.
Can I share a blocklist across all my numbers? Yes. The blocklist applies to every number on your account by default. To block a number on just one line, use the per-number rule under that number's settings.
