DineNGo: Self-Order Kiosk Setup

Kiosk

What you will learn: how to set up a DineNGo self-order kiosk, control how it looks, and decide which payment options it offers.

What the kiosk is

The DineNGo kiosk is an Android tablet that replaces the counter line: the guest browses the menu, builds a cart, picks dine-in or carryout, and pays with card, Apple Pay, or scan-to-pay — without staff intervention.

Pair a kiosk

  1. In the admin, open Devices → + Add Device → Kiosk.
  2. Give the kiosk a nickname (e.g. Kiosk – Front Right).
  3. A six-digit pairing code appears.
  4. On the Android tablet, open the DineNGo app and tap Pair Device.
  5. Enter the code.
  6. The tablet shows the kiosk welcome screen.

Configure the welcome screen

In the admin, open Devices, click the kiosk row, and pick Configuration.

  • Welcome message — one line shown above the Order Here button.
  • Order modes — toggle Dine In and Carryout on or off. Most quick-service merchants leave both on; ghost kitchens turn Dine In off.
  • Welcome image / video — optional background. Upload a still PNG or short MP4. Defaults to your branding image.
  • Idle timeout — number of seconds before the kiosk returns to the welcome screen if the guest walks away mid-cart.

Menu display

The kiosk pulls categories and items live from Inventory. The order of categories, item photos, and modifier groups all reflect what is set in 03-Inventory-and-Menu.

Payment options

Open Devices → Kiosk → Payment Options:

  • Cash — the kiosk prints an order ticket and the guest pays at the counter. Useful as a fallback.
  • Card (Clover) — requires a paired Clover device. See 05-Payments/01-Clover-Integration.
  • Apple Pay / Google Pay — automatically available once the Clover device is paired.
  • QR Pay — the kiosk shows a QR code; the guest scans, pays on their phone, and the kiosk completes the order. See 05-Payments/03-QR-Payment.

Toggle each option off if you do not want to offer it.

Login code

Some merchants gate access to the kiosk admin screen behind a four-digit code so a curious guest cannot leave the order flow.

  • Open Devices → Kiosk → Security.
  • Set or change the four-digit code.
  • Holding three fingers on the kiosk welcome screen for two seconds opens the code prompt; entering the code returns the tablet to the pairing menu.

Branding the kiosk

Open Devices → Kiosk → Branding:

  • Logo — defaults to your business logo. Override here per kiosk if you want.
  • Accent color — defaults to your brand color.
  • Welcome image — see above.

Changes apply within ten seconds; no manual restart needed.
